This is What OnePlus 6 Will Look Like (And it’s a lot Like iPhone X)

OnePlus has been producing some of most powerful Android phones in the recent years, and the company has made itself a good brand recognition thanks to its very aggressive pricing which is almost always cheaper than other flagship phones. Everything You Should Know About The OnePlus 5T

OnePlus has been launching some great phones for the last couple of years. After the launch of much awaited OnePlus 5 a few months ago, the company is planning to launch a refresh to the phone just like last year’s OnePlus 3T. Originally, the OnePlus 5T was to launch on November 16 but it was delayed and now the smartphone will be launched in New York City and will become available in India by November 21.

Feature-wise, it looks like the phone will have the same specs as the OP5 but the phone will have a larger, bezel-less display just like Galaxy S8 and newly launched iPhone X.

Company’s CEO Pete Lau has given hints that this handset will cost less than CNY 4,000, which will be approximately Rs. 39,000. And the same confirms that the upcoming handset will not fall in a very high range compared to the 8GB RAM variant of earlier OnePlus 5. there still be duties and taxes that will add up to make the price a little higher than we expect for now. So overall it will get a push to sell at a price beyond the Rs. 40,000 in India.

However, telecom carrier O2 has claimed, that OnePlus 5T price would be similar to its predecessors. It may just be that the company plans to phase out the 8GB RAM variant of OnePlus 5 and replace it with the 5T model. Still, there is time to reach to a conclusion on this matter. We will have to wait until November 16 and see what comes up.

Real World Test Shows That OnePlus 5 is Faster Than iPhone 7 Plus

OnePlus 5 has already beaten many some of the most popular flagship Android Phones in speed tests and now tests show that the phone is faster than Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus, the most powerful phone made by the Cupertino company.

In a video speed test by YouTube channel PhoneBuff, David Brahimi set OnePlus 5 against iPhone 7 Plus in a speed test of two laps of launching certain apps and games. Previous tests had ruled iPhone the winner consistently since iPhone 6s. But this term, OnePlus 5 launched the apps faster than iOS.

Although there are some things to consider, as speed tests are not definitive the indicators of a phone’s performance. They just take the launching apps to judge. The speed of copying files, performing other tasks in the OS is not taken into consideration. OnePlus 5 also had some help as it has its shorter app launch animations. While iOS 10 has extensive animations slowing it down, OnePlus’ animations are shorter. However, considering the phone does come with an impressive 8GB of RAM and Snapdragon 835 SoC, OnePlus 5 is hard to face hiccups in performance.

The OnePlus 5 was announced globally last week. The phone was launched in India last Thursday at Rs. 32,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM, and Rs. 37,999 for 8GB RAM. The phone has a 5.5-inch full-HD screen, Android 7.1.1 Nougat with OxygenOS skin, and comes with 64GB or 128GB storage. Camera on the back consists 16-megapixel and telephoto 20-megapixel sensors. The front camera has 16-megapixel resolution. It packs a 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge support for quick-charging.

OnePlus 5 Beats Galaxy S8 and HTC U11 in Real World Speed Tests

A research done last year revealed that some smartphone manufacturers (including OnePlus) cheat on benchmarking apps to get higher scores, OnePlus 5 is accused of this as well. but real life tests are showing that the phone is, in fact, faster than other flagship smartphones in the market.

Well-known YouTuber Jeremy Ortega recently posted a test video on the site where he compared OnePlus 5 with other smartphones on the market running Snapdragon 835 SoC. In the test, Jeremy launched 20 apps on all three smartphones, one after another. In the first round speed test of internal storage was done while the second round of launching the app was done to see how phones do on handling running apps and multitasking.

OnePlus 5 was easily faster than both other smartphones in the test. While HTC U11 and Galaxy S8 took 2.02 and 2.19 minutes respectively, OnePlus 5 was able to load all apps in just under 1.53 minutes.

While OnePlus 5 does not have other premium features of other flagships, the phone packs 8GB of RAM and it also has considerably faster storage.

OnePlus 3T was also a very fast phone compared to competitors at that time, Xiaomi is planning to launch Mi 6 Plus soon, so it will be interesting to see how it compares with the OnePlus 5.
