If you have been following Samsung’s flagship Android series, you probably know about Active versions of their phones. Samsung launches a rugged version of their flagship devices every year that are stronger, more durable and more weather proof at the cost of the less visual appeal.

It looks like that Korean Smartphone Giant is getting ready to launch another entry in the series with Galaxy S8 Active, which was leaked on an Android Benchmarking site Geekbench.

The phone has a model number of SM-G892A and it scored 1842 in single core performance test, results for a multi-core performance test was an impressive 6394. In case you are wondering, it is very close to that of Galaxy S8.  Some specification were also revealed, the phone will come with a Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and it will run on Android 7.0 Nougat.

The S8 Active should come with a larger battery too, Last year, S7 Active came with a 4000mAh battery which was a lot higher compared to S7’s 3000mAh. One thing where S8 Active will be behind its cousin will be its looks. To make the phones stronger, Samsung makes Active versions using Strong and durable materials instead of Glass and hence, the S8 Active probabbly wont have as much bling as the S8 or S8 Plus.

There is no official word about the launch date or avalibility of the phone, but it should be coming to the market soon.
