AT&T purchased DirecTV over a year ago on 24th July and now it ready to jump on streaming game with its new service.
The company calls it DirecTV Now and it will be ready for customers on 30th November. The service will only be available for users living in the US and it will be available in 4 packages.
The packages are:
- Live a Little – $35 / month (60+ channels)
- Just Right – $50 / month (80+ channels)
- Go Big – $60 / month (100+ channels)
- Gotta Have it – $70 / month (120+ channels)
If you want to watch Game Of Thrones on HBO or anything from Cinemax, AT&T will let you do that too with a cost of $5 for each channel per month.
Right now, the company is charging just $35 for the highest costing package for a limited amount of time. It sounds a great deal considering it will cost $70 per month for other customers.
Although the availability of more than 120 channels is appealing, you still won’t be able to watch ESPN, AMC, Discovery and many other big channels, though AT&T is trying to negotiate with Showtime and CBS.
DierecTV Now will be available for iOS, Android, Chromecast, Apple TV and both major computer platforms. Although. there is no DVR functionality available right now.
