Three months ago Nintendo had announced Super Mario Run for iOS, and now the game is finally coming to Android. It will run on Android devices worldwide from 23rd March. The launch comes weeks after another Nintendo mobile game, the fantasy tactical-RPG Fire Emblem: Heroes, launched for both Android and iOS in early February.

Nintendo of America’s Twitter account announced the Android launch date, and also stated that Super Mario Run would be getting a version 2.0.0 update as well. The new update will add new playable characters to the game. Players can make Mario jump with a single tap, though there are surprisingly complex mechanics underneath the one-touch setup.

If we assume that the game uses the same format as it does over on iOS, then it can be predicted that Super Mario Run will be free to download and try, but access to all ten worlds players will need to pay the user to pay $10 for a one-time in-app purchase.

Super Mario Run reached 78 million downloads on iOS from its launch date till January 2017. The game is available for pre-registration on Play Store.

Nintendo has also announced its plans to launch the mobile version of its very famous game Animal Crossing somewhere in the next fiscal year. The company says it will launch anywhere near two to three games for smartphones each year.
