Swipe Konnect is a 5″ Android 6.0 Phone That Costs Rs 2,800

India has been home for a lot of cheap Android phones in the past, but this one is probably one of the most impressive to come out in a while. Yesterday, Indian Smartphone company Swipe launched a new ultra cheap Android Phone exclusively on Indian e-commerce website ShopClues.

The Swipe Konnect Grand has a  5-inch FWVGA (480×854), and it is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor paired with 1 GB of RAM. The phone also has a 5-megapixel rear camera with flash and a 2-megapixel camera on the front for selfies.

Konnect Grand has inbuilt storage of 8 GB, and it can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. Connectivity wise, the phone supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

The phone also has a proximity sensor and an accelerometer, and it all runs on a 2500mAh battery that company claims will last for 8 to 10 hours on calls.

While the specs are in no way enough for me to recommend it as a primary device, it could be a great phone for a secondary device. In devices running any Android version newer than 4.4, having 1 GB of RAM is one of the biggest bottlenecks for performance.
