When the Zune was  launched in 2006, it was supposed to give a head-on competition to the iPod. However, it could not match up to Apple’s music player and thus became one of the most disappointing products that Microsoft made. It did not live up to any expectation in terms of sales and popularity.

It went through bad criticism and poor sales. Users were not even able to upload a photo on Twitter with the phone and lack of a proper app store only made the problems worse.
