Sony Just Launched Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra Thin With 23 Megapixel Cameras

Like Sony or Not, the company has launched some very interesting phones in recent months. To add to the list, the company recently unveiled 3 new phones in its Android lineup.

While none of the phones follow the 18:9 screen trend started by the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, all of the phones have an edge to edge display had a very impressive build quality. On the two phones, the XA2 Ultra has a bigger 6″ display with an FHD display resolution, the smaller XA2 has same display resolution but the screen size has been taken down to 5.2″.

One of the interesting features of the phones are probably in the optics department, both phones have 23 megapixel rear cameras that can record at 4K and 120 fps slow motion. Features differ on the front cameras though, the XA2 has a single 8-megapixel sensor that can shoot 120-degree wide angle photos whereas the XA2 Ultra has the same sensor and an additional 16-megapixel one that has OIS enabled.

In the specs department, the XA2 Ultra is slightly more powerful having 4GB RAM compared to the 3 GB RAM in the XA2. Both phones run on Snapdragon 630 SoC which is aimed at saving battery. Default storage will be 32 GB for both phones, but the XA2 Ultra will also come in a 64 GB storage variant.

Also, both phones will come with Android Oero running out of the box, which is the most recent version of Android and both phones charge using a USB Type C port and probably important to some users will be the presence of a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Sony Just Launched Xperia Rosso Red And It Looks Exquisite

Red is a trendy color in mobile phone world that received quite a late admiration compared to shades of grey and white ruling around. But now the market is admiring more and more the color spectrum and red is a new favorite for many, Sony has a phone for you.

Sony Xperia series has joined the spell with this a new red  Xperia Premium model titled as Rosso Red. It is recently available for its US customers through sell on Amazon. It is indeed a Sony Xperia XZ Premium model, which is as red as a tomato. It is actually red in Italian and this design was previously exclusive to Japan, now available to US consumers via Amazon.

The phone selling for $599 with GSM/LTE carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile. If you don’t like red much you can opt for Luminous Chrome, Deepsea Black, or Bronze Pink color options too. Xperia XZ Premium is through a conventional piece as says the specs, the USP pf the phone is a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160.

The phone has latest Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256 GB). And it holds an impressive camera suite with 19 MP Motion Eye main lens. For slow motion video playback by recording at 960 fps which is much higher compared to other phones. It still lakes a fingerprint scanner but otherwise the piece is up to the mark for hardening market completion in the segment.

Sony Just Launched Xperia XZ1 and XZ1-Compact

Copping up with other major companies rushing the market with premium and budget phones such as Apple’s new shiny iPhone X and Samsung’s new poster boy Galaxy Note 8, Sony yesterday brought its new Xperia XA1 Plus released at IFA 2017 alongside its cousins XZ1 and XZ1-Compact. It is selling at Rs 24,990 which makes it a mid-budget phone. It will be available for purchase by tomorrow at Sony outlets and major retail stores in three color variants: black, blue and gold.

The Xperia XA1 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display. It has 64-bit MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage is its memory feature. XA1 Plus sports a 23-megapixel rear camera with Sony Exmor RS sensor of f/2.0 aperture and hybrid autofocus, 24mm wide-angle lens, 5X clear image zoom, and steady shot. For selfies, it carries an 8-megapixel Sony Exmor R sensor of f/2.0 aperture, and with 23mm wide-angle lens at the front.

Xperia XA1 Plus follows the traditional Xperia design and the XZ Premium comes with diamond cut chamfered edges and a metal body. The power button is on the right side along with fingerprint sensor. Speakers are on front top and bottom. Sony’s Smart Cleaner, a function that automatically deactivates unused apps and clears the cache, is also bundled with it.

Considering market is flooded with mid-range and high range phone such OnePlus 5, it will be interesting to see how Sony’s new phone compete.

Sony Just Launched The Xperia XA1 With 23-Megapixel Camera

Sony has launched the XA1 smartphone in India priced at Rs 19,990 on Tuesday. The Sony Xperia XA1 is the successor of Xperia XA launched last year. It is available in all Sony Centres and major electronic stores across the country. It is available in White, Black, and Pink color variants. It was first unveiled in MWC Barcelona along with Sony Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, and Xperia XA1 Ultra.

The Sony Xperia XA1 features dual SIM support and runs on Android 7 Nougat. The smartphone features a 5-inch HD display. It is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM. It features 32 GB internal memory that is expandable.

The Sony Xperia XA1 has a 23 MP Exmor RS rear camera with hybrid autofocus, 24mm wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture, 5x zoom, and HDR mode. The front camera is 8 MP. The smartphone sports a 2300mAh battery. Its connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, and NFC.

Sony is offering three months free subscription of Sony Liv with the purchase of Xperia XA1. The smartphone comes with Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology that monitors the battery’s health and accordingly adjusts charging current to avoid damage and maximize the lifespan. It also has a Stamina Mode that will keep your battery going for longer when needed urgently by disabling some of the functions and extending the lifetime.

Sony’s Xperia XZ Just Got A Lot Cheaper in India

Sony’s flagship model Xperia XZ has got its price slashed in India. The company’s website now lists it at Rs 41,990 which is Rs 8,000 lower than the price it was launched at.

Last year in October that smartphone had gone on sale at Rs 49,990 which was still lower than the launch price, that was Rs. 51,990. There is no confirmation whether this price cut is permanent or for a limited period. Amazon India, which is the exclusive online partner for the Sony Xperia XZ, is now selling the smartphone at an even lower price of Rs. 39,990.

The best feature of the Xperia XZ is its three rear camera sensors. Sony says that the CMOS sensor can track and predict movement of objects in frame, thus reducing the chances of blurred shots. The smartphone also sports a laser autofocus sensor which makes the camera work great even in low light conditions. And the RGBC-IR sensor aims to provide accurate color reproduction. To top it all off the package contains 6-element f/2.0 Sony G lens, and a 23-megapixel Exmor RS sensor as well as Sony’s own ‘Bionz for mobile’ image processor. The smartphone further packs a 13-megapixel wide-angle front camera and comes with IP68 certification, making it dust and water resistant.

The Xperia XZ sports a 5.2-inch full-HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The internal storage is 64GB. The Xperia XZ features USB Type-C connectivity  and a 2900mAh battery.

You Can Pre-Order The Xperia XZ Premium, But You Will Have To Be (Very) Patient

Sony definitely impressed a lot of fans on Mobile World Congress 2017 with the reveal of its new flagship: the Xperia XZ Premium. The phone looks to be one of the most premium made by Sony, and it has probably one of the most impressive cameras that we have seen.

But, if you are interested in buying the phone for yourself, you will have to wait for months before it actually shows up to your doorsteps.

The phone went on pre-order today for UK markets, and while the prize of the phone is also a hard pill to digest (it costs 650 euro), probably the biggest turn-off for fans is its shipping date. As per the Amazon listing, the Sony will start shipping the phone on the first June of 2017.

Also, only the Deepsea black variant is available as of now, and there is no word about the availability of the phone in other colors.

If you have been following mobile news lately, you must remember before Sony starts shipping the phone, LG’s G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 will both be in the market. It will be fascinating to see how Sony’s confidence shows after a couple of months.

Sony Just Launched World’s Fastest Memory Card

Even though Apple has omitted the inclusion of SD Card reader from all of its new MacBooks. SD Cards are still one of the most important storage devices for many creative professionals. If you recall, last year, SanDisk launched a 1TB SD Card which is the highest capacity SD card to date. Today, Sony announced its SF-G UHS-II SD card which is the fastest SD card in the world.

The Sony made SD card features read speeds of a cool 300 MB/s and writing speeds of 299 MB/s, making it faster than most mechanical Hard Drives and comparable to many SATA SSDs.

The card is shockproof, waterproof, X-Ray Proof and Temperature resistance. It will be sold in 3 capacities:32 GB, 64GB and 128 GB, there is no word on pricing from Sony yet, but it should have some performance premium.
