Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Will Come in September, And It Will Be Really Expensive

The Galaxy Note 8 phablet is supposed to be priced at €999 (approximately Rs 72,200) and it will be launched in the second half of September, with that pricing, the phone will be the most expensive smartphone by Samsung till the day. This launch will be just next to Apple’s rumored iPhone 8. Note 8 is going to have to be a safe product after the disaster of Not 7 batteries explosion issue. Though as say the reports, Note 8 will own a similar design language as the Galaxy S8 with Infinity Display. However, it will be the first Samsung smartphone to feature a dual camera module, which the Galaxy S8 didn’t have.

The Note 8 will haven an edge-to-edge 18.5:9 aspect ratio AMOLED display just like the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+, in addition, it will have support for the signature S Pen stylus. Now that Qualcomm is working on Snapdragon 836, Note 8 may house Snapdragon 836 SoC or Exynos 8895. Note 8 will also be one of the rare smartphones from Samsung to have 6GB of memory.

For optics, leaks have suggested that the phone may come with a pair of 12-megapixel sensors with optical image stabilization, similar to Apple iPhone 7 Plus.
While competitors are working on under-screen sensors for biometric authentication Samsung resorts to same fingerprint sensor as in Note 7.

The phone will come with a 3,300mAh battery, which will be lower than last year’s Note 7. The phone, as always in the case with Samsung, will come with a custom Android skin with improved split-screen multitasking and add several functionalities to the S Pen, including full-sentence language translation and currency conversion. The stylus can pin handwritten notes to the always-on display. Other speculated features include DeX support. This separate hardware was announced alongside the Galaxy S8 lineup. It allows using the smartphone as a full-fledged desktop through connecting peripherals to a monitor and keyboard. Note 8 is expected to be available in blue, black and gold color variants.

Everything We Know About The Upcoming Galaxy Note 8

Samsung’s last attempt at phablets did not result in a massive success. While the phone hardware design was as premium as ever, faulty batteries started catching fire and the phone had to be recalled.

The company made it clear last month that it will not kill the line-up and that a new Note device will be launched in the second half of 2017. Recently, some details about the upcoming phone surfaced around the internet. A leak on Chinese social networking site Weibo suggested that the Galaxy Note 8 will have a curved 6.3 Inch display and it will look very similar to the Galaxy S8 Plus’ display.

Apart from the display, the phone may also come with a dual camera setup something that Apple and LG have already done with their flagship phones. The leak suggested that one of them will be a 12 megapixel wide Angle camera and the other one will be a 13-megapixel telephoto CIS. Both cameras on the back will support optical zoom up to 3X and Optical image stabilization as well.

Considering none of the leaked images have been varified officially, we should take them with a grain of salt. Considering Note 7 has been one of the biggest PR nightmares of recent years for the mobile industry, Samsung knows that it will be very hard to get back the consumer trust.
