The market has been a bit tough for Moto on the higher end but I had never thought that the company will go to this path for its flagship phone designs.
In a recent event in China, the respected phone manufacturer launched a new phone and called it Moto P30. However, rather than making it stand out like Moto Z Force and Moto G6 have been in past, P30 basically looks like an iPhone X with a bit worse build quality.
Sure, there are only so many ways to design a rectangle with a glass back and a screen on the front, but Essential phone and Samsung Galaxy S9 have proved that you don’t have to copy Apple to make your phone look good.
Alas, Moto P30 is a shameless design copy of the iPhone X with Android 8.0 installed on it. Complete with a wide notch and a dual camera setup on the top left only thing missing is an Apple logo and a lightning port in place of USB-C.
Among available colors, only one is a bit different than the norm these days and that too has been done by Huawei with its last triple camera phone.
The P30 is a mid-range phone which is roughly $300 in China, the SoC is middle of the rod Snapdragon 636 which is paired with 6 GB RAM which is a bit overkill considering it’s a mid-range phone.
Popular leaker Andri Yatim recently tweeted renders of the phone alongside with some interesting specs on his twitter claiming the G6 Play will be the most affordable phone on the G6 line with a Snapdragon 450 SoC and a big 4000mAh battery. The G6, on the other hand, will come with the same SoC but it will swap the battery with a 3000mAh pack.
The Moto G6 Plus will have a slightly bigger 3250 mAh battery. More interestingly, the Moto G6 renders show a dual camera system. The leak also suggested that the new phones will come with NFC support which is the first for the lineup. Apart from this new info, recent leaks have revealed that Moto G6 will have a 3D Glass back and the G6 Play will come with a 57 inch HD display whereas the G6 will have a full HD display. The G6 will probably have the same screen resolution as the Moto G6 but it will come with a beefier Snapdragon 630 SoC and 6 GB of RAM.
The phone has received a Rs 1000 price cut which is roughly $16 which makes the phone cost Rs 14,999 ($234) in the country. For the price, the phone will come with 4GB of RAM and 64 gigs of expandable storage.
Aside from that, the G5S Plus has a 5.5-inch FHD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and the phone has a metal unibody design. The phone runs on energy efficient Snapdragon 625 SoC which is clocked at 2GHz. On the back of the phone, there are 2 cameras, the both of which have 13-megapixel sensors to make a depth of field effect.
Connectivity wise, the phone supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi. Bluetooth 4.2 and micro-USB for charging and data transfer. The phone has a healthy 3000 mAh power pack too which supports fast charging.
Even Blass, who is one of the reliable leakers about smartphones, shared a photo of Moto’s upcoming Moto X4 which will run Android One. The phone doesn’t look a lot different than mid range Moto X4 launched a few weeks ago, but it has some cosmetic changes. Apart from a logo in the back, most different part of the Android One based X4 will be its operating system which will be directly updated by Google rather than Lenovo.
The specs are decent too. The phone has a 5.2-inch FHD display and it is based on a mid range Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC paired with 3 gigs of RAM.
In other specs, the phone will have a dual camera setup on the back, one will be a 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and the other will be 8 megapixels one with an ultra wide lens. On the front, the phone will ship with a 16-megapixel sensor with a f/2/0 aperture, which, while not as much as the 24 MP front camera included in Vivo’s recently launched phone, should be good enough for most users.
There are no official release dates, but we can expect it to hit the market soon and rumors are that the X4 may be one of the few Android One phones to come to the US.

There is no denying that Motorola’s Moto G and Moto E phones have made big strides in developing markets because of their comparatively bloat free OS and cheap pricing.
It looks like the Lenovo-owned company is prepping to launch a new cheap Android Phone in Indian smartphone market. The phone will go on stores on Monday and the company has named the phone Moto C Plus.
The phone will have a 5-Inch High Definition display and it will be powered by a 1.3GHz Quad Core MediaTek MT6737 SoC. The memory choices are a bit odd though, there will be 2 variants of the phone in which the first one will ship with just 1 GB of RAM and the other one will come with 2 GB RAM.
Storage on both variants will be 16 GB and users will be able to extend the memory using an external microSD card.
Motorola has added an 8-megapixel rear camera that has a f/2.2 aperture and 71 degrees of field of view. The rear camera has a flash and autofocus too. Leaks have suggested that C Plus will also have a 2-megapixel front facing camera.
Considering the phone will cost a rather humble 5,999 INR (Almost $90) the specs are not groundbreaking, however, the Moto C Plus will pack a 4000mAh battery, which is definitely a lot more than some of the current gen flagship phones in the market.
Moto C Plus will run on Android 7.0 and the phone also has a 3.5 MM Audio Jack at the top. Unlike other Moto Phones, the company has added some capacitive buttons to the front instead of using on-screen ones.
Should you buy the new Moto C Plus? If your budget is really tight, sure, but keep in mind that the phone’s SoC and RAM will be a limiting factor. On the other hand, the phone may be a good option for people who have never bought a smartphone before. Something that Motorola has already said about.
Many Moto smartphones are set to be released this year and there have been many leaks regarding them. Now Moto Z2 Play has joined the list. Its render images that show it from all angels have allegedly been leaked online.
The images have been leaked by TechnoBuffalo and they show the Moto Z2 Play from te front, back and the side. The smartphone looks like the powerhouse predecessor of Moto Z Play. The camera design is seen jutting out from the back protected by a metal ring on the edges. The power and volume buttons are both placed on the right edge of the smartphone. The Moto Z2 Play has front Flash and Moto logo in the center on the back. It also has the connected pins at the back bringing support for Moto Mods.
Another detail has been launched via the images. The display of the phone shows June 8. This could mean that the Moto Z2 Play could be launching on this date. This is purely speculation and could be false too. No Specifications have been leaked but in terms of design, the smartphone is definitely an upgrade.
Moto is also reported to be working on the very affordable C series and the first smartphones to be leaked from this series are Moto C and Moto C Plus.
