LG Q Stylus+ is Launched As Galaxy Note 9 Killer

If you desperately crave for a phone with a big screen and a stylus but don’t want to spend more than $1000 for the Galaxy Note 9, it looks like LG has a phone for you. The company recently unveiled the new LG Q Stylis+ at an event.

The phone is basically a mid-range large screen smartphone that comes with a stylus.

On the front of the phone is a 6.2-inch screen which does not have a notch, a huge plus point for people looking for devices like Note 9. The phone is packed with an octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM which should be plenty for most users. There is a single 16-megapixel sensor on the back and the phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.

But enough about specs, let’s talk about the USP of the phone -the stylus. The phone can record and recognize handwriting even when the display of the phone is off. The stylus can be used to manipulate videos and photos on the phone and just like Note 9, you can create GIFs from Videos.

The phone will sell for Rs 21,999 in India, which is roughly $306. Considering the fact that there is basically no competition on the market, at least in the mid-tier, the phone may be worth picking if you are a hardcore stylus user.

Everything You Need To Know About LG Bridge: Features, Download and Alternatives

LG Bridge is an application released by LG that lets users manage and backup their phone with their PCs. You can download it from LG’s official website.

LG Bridge is an application released by LG that lets users manage and backup their phone with their PCs. The software lets you backup, restore and update your LG phones on your PC. In this post, we will discuss how it is and how you can download LG Bridge on your PC. We will also discuss some features of the software alongside covering phones that are supported by the software. If you don’t have an LG phone but you are looking for tools to let you connect your phone to your PC,  I have listed some device-independent alternatives too.

What is LG Bridge?

In a nutshell, it is an application suite that replaces older LG PC Suite. The free software is to let users connect their phones to their computers wirelessly and do some common maintenance tasks such as backup and restore.

The LG Bridge is available for PC and Mac and supports all modern Android-based LG phones. Aside from usual backup and restore featues, the Bridge can be used to update software for any supported LG phone.

Supported Phones

The Bridge supports most of the recent Android phones launched by LG. These supported phones include:

  • LG G Series: G6, G5
  • V Series: LG V10, LG V20, and LG V30
  • LG X and K series
  • LG Stylus series phones.

If you have a phone older than the above, you can try downloading and installing LG PC Suite. If you try to connect an older phone, LG Bridge will ask you to download and install the PC Suite instead. Smartphones from brands other than LG are completely unsupported.

Some Important Features of the Application

LG Airdrive

Airdrive lets you wirelessly connect your LG phone to your PC. Once the connection has been made, you can wirelessly copy, move and delete files from your smartphones. To connect you will have to create an account and you will also have to enable Airdrive in the phone’s settings.

Backup

Probably the most important feature of LG Bridge, Backup will let you have a local and restorable copy of data on your LG phones. Aside from supporting data inside your internal storage and media files, Backup can also include contacts and SMS messages too. To backup be sure to connect your phone via Media Sync (MTP) or File Transfer mode.

Keep in mind that you cant open these backup files on your PC, instead, the only way to read a backup file is to restore it on the phone.

Download for Windows

Download for Mac

Alternatives

In my personal experience, the application is a bit slow at times and definitely needs more polish. If you are looking for an alternative, for wirelessly transferring files, Airdroid is worth a look. AirDriod has always been one of the best apps made for file sharing between PCs and phones and recent updates have added some of the best Pushbullet features into it. For backups, Android has a built-in backup to cloud feature that you can activate in settings.

For offline backups, Helium is a good free Android app that you can install.

LG K7i is A Smartphone That Makes Mosquito Go Away (Yes, You Heard it right)

Among all the edges Android has over iOS, flexibility is one of the most important, sure, the new iPhone X may come with Wireless Charging and a high screen to body ratio, we have seen some Android phone that are so crazy in design that it becomes their USP. Samsung’s recent Android Flip phones and Yota’s dual-screen smartphone comes to mind. And now, you can add one more to the mix.

LG recently launched a new phone called LG7Ki that features a “Mosquito Away” technology alongside with normal guts of an entry-level smartphone.

The feature uses the phone’s big hump at the bottom back to emit ultrasound waves that LG Claims will keep the mosquitos away. I am a bit skeptical about its effectiveness, but LG seems confidant considering the company has been adding this feature to its TVs and ACs in past years. Still, BBC has a report that says these ultrasound devices “have no effect on preventing mosquito bites” and “should not be recommended or used.”

Apart from that, the phone is a pretty much entry-level smartphone with a 720p 5-inch display, 2GB RAM, a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and an 8MP camera on the back and 5MP camera on the front. The internal storage is 16GB that can be extended to 156 GB with a microSD card

The phone will run on Android 6.0 and it will cost $121 or Rs 7,990 in India. Considering the price of the phone and the fact that it runs on a two-year-old software, LG is definitely expecting on the mosquito related features to make it stand out instead of phone’s performance.

LG V30 Leaks in All Its Glory, Looks Sick AF

The V series has been kind of an underdog for large powerful and uncompromising Android phone since its launch, the last phone was notable for its secondary display, dual camera setup and metal body and now that a year is over since the launch, LG is prepping to aim at upcoming Galaxy Note 8. LG V30 is finally about to launch in Berlin on 31 August. Just today, some leaked renders of the upcoming phone were shared by well known tipster Evan Blass which show the phone in all its glory.

The new leak coming from highly reliable Evan Brass has shown an all-round look of the device. It has only a slight nominal holding grip on its top and bottom edges while it does go total bezel-free from its sides. However, another highlight of this smartphone is its dual camera setup, which will probably function similar to recently launched LG G6. Also, it has a sleek metallic finish, antenna curves on left and right, volume rocker on left edge and SIM slot on the right.

To offer an operating versatility LG has its own Android based OS that will include in this phone as UX 6.0+. Arguably it is designed to be more suiting to 18:9 aspect ratio in smartphone screen.

Two variants, akin to other leading companies, are offered by this flagship, regular and plus having 64 and 128 GB of internal storage respectively. While both will variants will come with a 6 inch OLED QHD Display, supposedly the plus will excel in the audio department. Both have processor Snapdragon 835 SoC, 16 and 13 megapixel camera for rear and front as well as an impressive 6GB RAM powered by 3300 mAh batteries. In Indian currency, those smartphones are to be priced around 44,900 and 56,100 respectively, which is roughly almost $700 and $875. This is not the first time LG V30 has been leaked, and it will be interesting to see how it will compare against upcoming Note 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

LG Just Launched Q6 Lineup With Almost Bezel-less Displays On a Budget

LG G6 was one of the first true flagship of 2017 (We don’t talk about HTC U Ultra) and one of the most compelling features of the phone was its one of a kind, taller than usual and almost bezel-less 18:9 display. If you have been interested in getting a phone with a similar display but LG G6’s full flagship price turned you off, it looks like LG has made a phone just for you.

The company today revealed a new phone lineup called Q6 series and launched 2 phones named LG Q6, Q5 Plus, and Q6a. All phones have the same display as G6 but they will come at affordable prices.

All phones have a 5.5-inch  2160×1080 display with a  pixel density of 442 PPI and the body of all models will be made with 7000 series aluminum. The phones will have mid-range Snapdragon 435 SoC and all phones will come with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing wide-angle camera.

The Q6 Plus will ship with 4GB RAM and 64 GB Storage, Q6 will come with 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage and The LG Q6a will come with 2GB RAM and 16 GB Storage. I Think the first two models should be more than enough for mainstream users. All phones also come with a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery.

The company did not reveal exact pricing, but considering the phones don’t have balls to the wall specs, we can hope that phones will ship at much lower prices than the og G6. The phone will go on sale in August in all major markets.
