Game of Thrones Season 8 Will Not Air in 2018

If you are a fan of Game of Thrones, it looks like you will have to wait longer to fill your appetite for new episodes of the show. After finishing the show’s seventh season airing in 2017, HBO has announced that the new season of the show will not be coming until 2019.

The company broke the news in an official blog post, HBO wrote, “The epic fantasy series Game of Thrones will return for its six-episode, eighth and final season in 2019.”

David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, David Nutter, and Miguel Sapochnik will be the directors for the new season. Writers for the new season are David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman, and Dave Hill.

The executive producers of the series are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield. Co-executive producers are Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin.

The bad news for GoT fans does not stop here, the next season will have only six episodes compared to 10 episodes we have been seeing every season till now.

As educated guess will be that the new season of Game of Thrones will begin airing sometime around April of 2019. In the meantime, HBO will be airing The Deuce, The Leftovers and Big Little Lies on the channels and HBO Go.
