Mi 6 has finally been launched by Xiaomi at a Beijing event. The Mi 6 is available in Black, White and Blue colors and will go on sale on April 28 at 10 am CST (7:30 am IST).
Price and Variants
There are three variants of Mi 6 at this point. The 6 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage is priced at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 23,500), the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB internal memory is priced at CNY 2,899 (roughly Rs. 27,000). Apart from these two variants a third variant has been launched called the Mi 6 Ceramic has been launched. It is available in Black color and Features four-side curved ceramic body and 18K gold-plated camera rims at the back. It has been priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 28,000). It has 6 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage.
At the event, a Silver edition was also announced which will feature sport four-sided 3D curves and an ultra reflective mirror finish.
Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi 6 features a 5.15-inch display diagonally and sports full-HD resolution. Its maximum brightness is 600 nits, which can be reduced automatically down to as low as 1 nit. It is powered by the latest octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at 2.45GHz coupled with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU.
It has four-sided 3D glass which gives it a premium look. These sides are made of stainless steel and there is no 3.5 mm audio jack. The USB port is Type-C.
Lei Jun, founder and CEO of Xiaomi said that the new Mi 6 has been “precisely crafted like a watch.” He also mentioned that the dual camera at the back has been “seamlessly integrated.” The fingerprint scanner is placed under-glass at the front. He also added that the Mi 6 is resistant to wear and tear, and claimed it’s “splash-resistant”.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 features dual camera setup. It has dual 12 MP camera on the back similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. There is a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and another 12-megapixel telephoto camera for 2x lossless zoom. Xiaomi said that its binocular stereoscopic vision imaging and depth learning algorithm makes edge recognition more accurate in the photos.
The connectivity options support for 2X2 MIMO Wi-Fi, and 4G+ networks with download speeds of up to 600Mbps and up to 100Mbps upload speed. It sports a 3350 mAh battery. It her features include front-firing dual speakers, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-SIM support (4G + 4G/ 3G/ 2G), 8-megapixel front camera with 1080p video capture at 30fps, slo-mo videos.
Xiaomi confirmed that the Mi 6 comes with new MIUI optimizations that will let the Mi 6 to last up to a full day. MIUI can now restrict applications from starting up, freezes background app, and also comes with a battery saving mode.
