After the launch of much anticipated Mi 1A last week, Xiaomi is ready to put its boot deeper on the bezel less smartphone market that it started a year ago with Mi Mix. The Mi MIX 2 just launched in Beijing, China with three variants that include internal storages of 64GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. Prices of those devices will be 3299 RNB, 3599 RNB, and 3999 RNB respectively. A limited edition Mi MIX 2 with ceramic body and 128GB storage, coupled with a whopping 8GB of RAM available in black as well as white colors is priced at 4,699 RMB (approximately Rs 46,100).
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is the successor to the Xiaomi Mi MIX. In comparison, it owns a higher screen-to-body ratio, and a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and besides the bottom chin staying same, the new device is 12 percent leaner. Rounded corners are adding to the aesthetic and overall Mi MIX 2 is said to be 11.9 percent smaller than the Mi Mix. In comparison with Apple iPhone 7 Plus it will seven percent smaller, which is a nice bet for new era smartphones.
However, it is still not a bet that Indian consumers can deem upon. While the price of highest-end Mi MIX 2 with 256 GB, which can be dubbed as 39,300 Rupees, and it can serve as a nice option for mid-high range phones in the Indian market, yet we may only hope that there may be a plan in future for Xiomi has shown no hint if the smartphone will be available in India or not. Considering Galaxy’s Note 8, LG V30 and many other phones are now coming with very minimal bezel, it will be interesting to see how Mi Mix 2 performs in the market.
