Sure, Google is prepping to launch the Pixel 2 and Apple’s iPhone 8 is almost ready for launch, but the market is still dominated by Chinese brands such as Oppo and Vivo, especially in developing countries.
Vivo’s V7+ smartphone is out with 24-megapixel selfie camera. The camera has a special ‘Moonlight Glow’ front flash f/2.0 aperture as it USP. Launched in India at Rs. 21,990 which is roughly $343, the smartphone has a 5.99-inch HD (720×1440 pixels) IPS Incell ‘FullView’ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 2.5D curved glass. Arguably this HD resolution on such large display may affect quality, which is yet to be inspected.
Vivo V7+ runs its OS as Funtouch OS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. The display is almost bezel-less on the sides, with 2.15mm bezels and smartphone has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with 4GB of RAM.
Its 24-megapixel front camera has f/2.0 aperture, 1/2.78-inch sensor, and a ‘Moonlight Glow’ soft selfie light. And 16-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash. 64GB of inbuilt storage is there inside the device and the phone microSD support too.
Connectivity is through 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio. Other important specs include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, and proximity sensor. It features a 3225mAh battery. Supposedly an AK4376A Hi-Fi Audio chipset is also expected with the smartphone, but we are not sure. The phone will go on sale on September 15 and pre-orders are due on Thursday. It will be available in Gold, Matte Black, and Rose Gold color options.
