Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 are two of the most awaited phones by the legendary brand this year and not only because these will be flagship phones of the brand but also because both phones will be some of the most powerful phones company has ever made.
Nokia 8 was leaked by famous tipster Even Blass on twitter who posted a press render of the phone showing the phone’s front and back. As you can see in the image attached below, the phone is in the blue variant, although we are sure there will be more colors available. Just like the recently leaked Nokia 9, Nokia 8 will also have 2 cameras in the back and one camera in the front. The lenses in Nokia 8 are Zeiss branded which is a first after Nokia’s Windows Phone days. Unlike iPhone, Nokia 8 seems to have a 3.5 mm Audio Jack on the top.
According to recent information available about the phone, it will run on top of the line Snapdragon 835 SoC and the phone may come in 2 variants, first will be 4GB RAM and 64 GB Storage and the second will be with either 6GB or 8 GB of RAM, which is an overkill, but may come in use for extream multitaskers. The phone does not have a bezel-less display, but it should be a 5.3-inch QHD display with good pixel density. The phone will cost around Rs 43,400 or $670 when it’s on the market, but it’s just an assumption.
A Chinese tipster Baidu revealed that Nokia 7, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 will be powered by Snapdragon 630, Snapdragon 660 and Snapdragon 835 SoCs respectively. Taking a look at processors, we can be sure that Nokia 9 will be the highest performing phone and Nokia 8 and Nokia 7 will be focussing on budget and mid-range market.
Interestingly, the leak also indicated that the company may be working on a cheap smartphone with a Snapdragon 202 SoC, it may be called Nokia 2 officially.
While details about Nokia 8 are thin, many important details about Nokia 9 have come out before its official launch. Apart from the Snapdragon 835 SoC, the phone will come with 8 GB of RAM, a 5.3-inch QHD display and 64 GB of storage. Apart from that leaks have suggested that the phone will have a dual camera setup on its back.
What can be a better way to waste money on a $2000 phone? Buy a $2500 one. The ‘Putin-Trump Summit’ edition of Nokia 3310 from Russian phone customiser Caviar is released just before the meeting between the presidents of US and Russia at G20 international forum. It is available at $2,468 (roughly Rs. 1.6 lakhs) and owns a luxurious leather casing made with ‘Black Velvet’.
This Nokia device which has all the similar specs to regular model is specially made of hardened titanium with a pattern of “Damascus steel” which represents “the protection of justice.” The gold plated circular emblem with Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin portraits are a plus as the definitive feature of the phone.
Caviar Royal Gift, says that the gold plaque containing the portraits of two presidents symbolizes their “common desire for progress in US-Russia relations.”
While Caviar has also started selling an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus modeled on Putin-Trump Summit, it’s the Nokia that’s getting the spotlight for now. Therefore, Russian luxury company doesn’t miss to celebrate the occasion by pushing a special edition Nokia 3310 with their gold plated faces carving a memory of the event in the gadget market.
Considering the phone is the same Nokia 3310 reboot launched a few months ago, which costs around $55, dropping over two grand on a phone that has face of Trump and Putin permanently engraved on it might just be a really, terribly, stupidly rich thing to do. But hey, who wouldn’t want that phone in their pockets.
