Lets take look on Microsoft’s top 5 Android Apps that you may not have heard about.

Windows Phone may be struggling to prove itself as a great mobile OS, but Microsoft is not seeming to hope people to buy a Windows Phone to use their services and apps, rather than that, the Redomond Giant is creating tons of apps for other mobile platforms.

Most people have already heard about Microsoft Office, Bing and OneDrive etc but there is more to it. Some apps for android made by Microsoft are not just bunch of ports, instead they are surprisingly good and innovative to use.

Lets take look on Microsoft’s top 5 Android Apps that you may not have heard about.

Arrow Launcher

Recently launched for public use, Arrow Launcher is a full flagged Android Home Screen replacement. It tries to make stuff easily accessible by showing user recently used apps and recently contacted people on the home screen.

on{X}

[su_youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfLMTsIJsoo”]

on{X} is currently in beta but in my use, I did not find any bugs. It is a bit complex to use at first. Initially, using this you can automate tons of thing on your Android Phone. Such as you can set your Phone to mute once you get to your office. The app requires Facebook login to work.
Honestly, IFTTT is good at doing this, but as it is made by Microsoft, it deserves to be on this list.

Parchi

OneNote is well known Note taking app by Microsoft, but some people find it too feature rich and cumbersome to use. Parchi is a great tiny note taking app. It sizes only 4MB and it is also easy to use. You can use hashtags (#tags) to link notes on a specific topic. Parchi was also started as a Microsoft Garage project.

Looks Like Google’s Head Of Design Doesn’t Like Windows 10

Now, Matias Duarte, the Google’s Head of Design has made it clear that he is not liking he way Windows 10 works.

Windows 10 has made many people happy and many not so happy.
Now, Matias Duarte, the Google’s Head of Design has made it clear that he is not liking the way Windows 10 works. According to Matias, it is just like Windows XP that was released 10 years ago.

He made a couple of tweets on his twitter account after setting up his new Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

Looks Like Google's Head Of Design Doesn't Like Windows 10

The comments do matter considering Matias is the one of the major minds behind Google’s Material Design Principal. He has worked on the UX and UI front of Google Android and other Google Products.

However, his mocking seems right at some point, considering Android has revamped many times since Microsoft released Windows XP in 2002.

He did not say about one particular app/software in Windows 10 that he is unhappy about, rather he just said that Windows 10 is just like a software 10 Years ago. Google’s Material design is just being loved by users whereas people are not too fond of Microsoft’s Don’t call it Metro Visual Style.

And perhaps the biggest reason is the inconstancy in UI elements and Microsoft not being able to update all icons and other components to modern standards. It is plain obvious that users can still find tons of screens and dialog boxes still looking like they are from Windows 95.

After firing up a debate on Windows 10 on twitter, he made it clarified that he does not have problem with how Windows 10 looks. Rather he is not liking the way Windows 10 works.

Matias Duarte

That must have given Microsoft and Satya Nadela a burn.

It will be interesting to see how Microsoft defends himself and his flagship OS from these attacks.

Microsoft just released an Android Launcher Called Arrow

The launcher is named arrow and just as any other good launcher, it tries to simplifying the user experience in android.

Microsoft is not just focusing on Windows anymore. Today, an Garage Project of Microsoft became the first android launcher by Microsoft on the Google Play Store.

The launcher is named arrow and just as any other good launcher, it tries to simplifying the user experience in android.

The app sizes less than 5 MB and works well on low end devices, it has a few basic screens each with a unique purpose. Arrow Launcher makes it easy to launch recently used apps and contacting recently called people.

Perhaps the biggest feature is that it can switch Wallpapers automatically with Bing Image of the day.

Apart from these, the app also makes sure that you call Google Now as less as possible by having a screen to manage tasks and notes on the go. These seem to work just as well as expected. The customizability is also good, it has support for icon packs.

Whereas the Arrow Launcher is good in what it does, At  this point it is only available in English and Traditional & Simplified Chinese languages. Hopefully Microsoft can add new features and language in future releases.

App is now available in Google’s Play Store and it has mostly positive reviews so far.

Have you used Arrow Launcher? do you plan to use it? share with us in the comments below…

Here is How Samsung’s 18″ Tablet will Look Like

Yes, Samsung is making a 18″ Tablet Called Galaxy View. To me more precise, it will have a 18.4″ monster display. The image reveals that the tablet is a no joke 18″ monster.

Apple has a 13″ iPad Pro, Microsoft has it’s Surface Pro so why Samsung cant make a giant tablet? well Samsung is creating a Tablet that is going to have a display bigger than my 15.6″ Laptop.

Yes, Samsung is making a 18″ Tablet Called Galaxy View. To me more precise, it will have a 18.4″ monster display. Evaleak posted a leaked image on twitter. The image reveals that the tablet is a no joke 18″ monster.

To stand this huge display, Galaxy View has a kickstand which is  bit similar to Microsoft Surface Pro devices. In Specs departments, rumors say that tablet will be powered by a 1.6GHz Exynos 7580 SoC and it will be assisted by 2GB of RAM on board. It has a 1080p, 120PPI display.

samsung-galaxy-view

Seems that Galaxy View will come in WiFi, LTE and 3G version. According to the recent leaks, WiFi model will cost around $600, which seems legit for this huge screen.

Samsung really want to be noted on big screen tablets, the Samsung Galaxy View will compete with Apples smaller (but still huge) iPad Pro.

$600 price will definitely make it cheaper than iPad Pro or Surface Pro. However, giant tablets loose their charm due to too much weight and it will be interesting to see how Galaxy View stacks up against the competition.

All people are not good for demonstrating products, This happened to prove at an event when BlackBerry’s CEO was demonstrating company’s new phone BlackBerry Priv.

BlackBerry Recently announced the name of the phone. Along with it CEO also talked about the availability of Blackberry Priv.

CEO John Chen was demonstrating the phone features and design at an event and it was just embarrassing for him. He tried to launch Google Chrome Browser, After tapping the icon on BlackBerry Priv for the first time, nothing happened. After tapping it twice more, The app finally opened and it was not yet configured.

[su_youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOL-_lXp5ZQ”]

It was a good example that before giving demonstration of any product, everyone should make preparations. Chen was not ready for the demo (it seems because the phone was not configured with a Google account) however, not being able to speak the right name of Google’s Operating system is definitely embarrassing. John said that the phone “Runs Google”  all  time in demo.
