Samsung Thinks Tablets Are Still Cool, Launches Galaxy Tab A 8.0

Well, be it Apple’s iPad Pro, Microsoft’s Surface or Google Pixel C, while the tablet market was saturated last year, this year has seen so few new tablet launches, which is actually reasonable considering Android tablets have not been doing as aspected even after the launch of Android 7. Well, it looks like Samsung thinks it’s a good time for a new tablet. The company just released in Vietnam Galaxy Tab A 8.0, an 8-inch tablet. It has been priced at VND 6,490,000 (roughly Rs. 18,200).

The tab has an 8-inch WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) display, a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat. No info of voice calling support which may possibly not be a part of this tablet.

It has a clear camera bump for its 8-megapixel primary camera that has an f/1.9 aperture as well as flash. Front camera is a 5-megapixel one with selfie flash. For connectivity it has various options through 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, and common Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm jack, and GPS + GLONASS / Beidou. 212.1×124.1×8.9mm are being the dimensions, and it is weighing 364grams. It is, of course, thicker and heavier than the earlier model. Last 8 inch tablet from Samsung was in 2015, and it was quite lighter than this one. It includes a bigger and heavier 5000mAh battery which may be the reason of this weight as Samsung cannot afford to push battery tight and invoke a mishappening as did in the case of its now infamous Note 7.

Not sure yet when Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) will launch in the Indian market or the UC. Awaiting is on for fans, already.
