Samsung Launches J3 Prime, A Budget Focused Android 7.0 Smartphone

There is no doubt that the Galaxy S8 has been successful in doing the damage control after the Note 7 fiasco, but it appears that the Smartphone Maker has not forgotten about the budget smartphone market. In its attempt to fight Chinese smartphone makers such as Xiaomi and Vivo, the company recently launched a new model under its Samsung J series named the J3 Prime.

As of new, the Phone is only available in the US and it costs $150 on T-Mobile network.

For the price, users will get a 5-inch 720p Display and 16 GB of Built-in storage. The phone is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos 7570 SoC and 1.5 GB of low-voltage RAM.

In shooting department, the phone has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture and it also has a 2-megapixel camera at the front for self-portraits. The J3 Prime comes with a 2600 mAh battery, which, while not as big as new flagships, should be able to hold on it’s on because of less power hungry hardware.

Connectivity wise, the phone has a 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n Wi-Fi, USB, LTE. GPS and Bluetooth 4.1. The market is filled with many budget-oriented smartphones that have better specifications than Samsung’s offering, it will be interesting to see how the phone sells.
