In order to compete with Xiaomi and Motorola’s upcoming Moto G6, the South Korean Smartphone giant today launched a new phone called Galaxy J7 Duo while not as flashy as its top-tier family members, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, the new phone has some upgrades and a price tag that is much more attractive.
The phone has a 5.5 inch 780p AMOLED display and it runs on an Exynos 7 series octa-core SoC which is clocked at 1.6 GHz, the phone comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM.
Aside from that, the back of the phone contains a dual camera system much like the flagships one of which is a 13-megapixel sensor and the other one is a 5-megapixel sensor with f/1.9 aperture. The back camera supports autofocus, flash and FHD video recording. On the front of the phone, Samsung has added an 8-megapixel secondary camera with a f/1.9 aperture and an LED flash.
Apart from the above, the phone supports Face unlock, Selfie focus and beauty mode features. Connectivity wise, the phone supports LTE, 802.11 Wifi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and Glonass. The power pack of the phone is an average 3000 mAh and the phone weights 174 grams.
The phone will cost roughly 260 USD which is fairly competitive for the specs. However, Only time will tell if the phone manages to beath Xiaomi, Oppo, and Moto in the market.
