Indian Men Did More Online Shopping Than Women in 2016

Most people think that women spend more time and money doing online shopping than men, well, if you are one of those, prepared to be proven wrong, -at least in the case of Flipkart one of the most popular e-commerce websites in India.

The site did a study on shopping habits and trends on within its user base and found that most online shoppers were men -60% to be exact.

Talking about average ages, most online shoppers belong between 25 and 35 years of age. Most popular categories in shopping were electronics, clothing, and footwear. The number of shoppers over 45 year age was 15% this year, which is surprising condiering the age group is thaught to be more resistant to change than other age groups.

Most online shoppers are from Delhi NCR followed by Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Top brands in terms of sales were Samsung, Lenovo, SanDisk, Mi and UCB.

Flipkart is currently the largest e-commerce company in India and considering data used for analyzation came from about 100m users; we can agree that Indian women still like offline shopping than online.
