Google Pixel 2 Will Be A Boring Phone With Large Bezels, Leak Suggests

Google’s second smartphone under the Pixel title, Pixel 2 has taken few definitive and bold steps as we are aware of some recent leaks. In addition to our information about it, now GSMarena has come up with a fresh leak solidifying our ideas of this smartphone manufactured by South Korean tech-leader HTC Global.

The leaks confirm that Pixel 2 is about to have thicker bezels on top and bottom. It is count as a nightmare of pixel fans that finally turned out as true. The bezels are too thick compared to most phones in market bragging a charming design. Though there are large and powerful stereo speakers added with it, the design seems spoiled. To a little consoling, it is still a leak from developer version and we may hope a little better design on its unveiling this year.

It’s backside, however, appears pretty much like Pixel XL 2, leaked a few weeks ago. The fingerprint scanner is outside the glass window on the aluminum body, two new LED flashes are included on both sides of a fresh design of camera sensors. In sync with the previous leaks, a laser sensor is also expected to be a part of the phone.

The performance of the phone, however, should be as good as it has ever been with rumors of having top of the line Snapdragon 836 SoC and 6 or 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. The phone will also be one of the first to come out with Android 8 (Although Nokia 8 may take the crown) What do you feel about not having a display like Galaxy S8 on new Pixel phones? Bezel argument is too overrated. Bezel is required to hold a phone comfortably without disturbing the display. Bezel helps grip a phone better, avoids drops. Ghost touches? And you need front firing stereo speakers but without bezels. Where do you want the speakers placed? At your backyard?!?

Thank you Google for not elliminating the bezels like to many phone makers are doing these days. I personally like being able to actually hold the phone without unintentionally activating something on the screen over and over and over. I have big hands and with my current S7 edge I am always doing something I didn’t want to happen. I look forward to the new pixel, thanks! (No you all, this is not sarcasm.)
