Get Ready: Samsung May Launch A Foldable Smartphone Soon
The dream of having a functional and practical phone is nothing new, we have heard about it in past and Rumors had amazed us that Samsung aims at two Galaxy X1 and Galaxy X1 Plus smartphones with flip-ability back in the game, only this time with touchscreens.
And these rumors may soon come to be true. The company has confirmed launching a foldable smartphone in 2018. The flagship of ‘Galaxy Note’ is to receive this owner, Koh Dong-jin, president of mobile business at Samsung Electronics, has announced recently.
Samsung first showcased a flexible display prototype in 2013. And as seems, the company had labeled the phones Samsung Galaxy X1, Galaxy X1 Plus, which gave rise to respective rumors during MWC 2017. A filed a trademark for the Galaxy X moniker had been the clue that spread the idea that Samsung is now ready.
Galaxy X is expected to come with ‘flexible’ display which turns on as the smartphone is folded; its basic drawings show a bendable section in the middle. Users can fold it like a flip phone while a home button will still be up front, and power and volume buttons on the right-hand side.
The artificial intelligence-enabled speaker that users can speak to is also deemed due to this device. That technology is about to give a tough fight to Amazon and Google. As a strong contender to them seems like Samsung is also going to tease them with Samsung’s Bixby voice assistant in those speakers.
