Sony definitely impressed a lot of fans on Mobile World Congress 2017 with the reveal of its new flagship: the Xperia XZ Premium. The phone looks to be one of the most premium made by Sony, and it has probably one of the most impressive cameras that we have seen.
But, if you are interested in buying the phone for yourself, you will have to wait for months before it actually shows up to your doorsteps.
The phone went on pre-order today for UK markets, and while the prize of the phone is also a hard pill to digest (it costs 650 euro), probably the biggest turn-off for fans is its shipping date. As per the Amazon listing, the Sony will start shipping the phone on the first June of 2017.
Also, only the Deepsea black variant is available as of now, and there is no word about the availability of the phone in other colors.
If you have been following mobile news lately, you must remember before Sony starts shipping the phone, LG’s G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 will both be in the market. It will be fascinating to see how Sony’s confidence shows after a couple of months.
If you were in the market for a phone, would you be pre-ordering an Xperia XZ or will you wait for Galaxy S8? Share with us in the comments below.
The Moto Z smartphone was launched last year with Moto Mods. And now it seems as if Motorola is ready with the next generation of the smartphone. The smartphone company gave its audience a preview to the Moto Z smartphone at the MWC 2017 while showcasing new mods. It also hinted the same more recently during Sprint’s Gigabit-Class LTE service display on Thursday.
The most notable change in the Moto Z is the oval shaped fingerprint sensor. The form factor of the Moto Z is mainly the same and it makes sense as it has to support present and future Moto Mods. Meaning that the next smartphone in the Moto Z series will feature a same size 5.5-inch display too like its predecessor.
The Moto Z smartphone is said to fall in the premium category, so it will come with exceptional specifications including Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. It will also feature a slim metal slab design.
The device that was showcased at the Sprint’s Gigabit-Class LTE service display was spotted running on a Snapdragon 835. The device encased and covered at the edges making it difficult to be sure if it is indeed the Moto Z(2017). However, Sprint later confirmed that the device was a flagship model. The carrier also said that it used a combination of “three-channel carrier aggregation and 60 MHz of Sprint’s 2.5 GHz spectrum in combination with 4X4 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) and 256-QAM higher order modulation to achieve incredible Category 16 LTE download data speeds on a TDD network.”

A report by Reuter states that Whatsapp has begun testing ways for businesses to directly message their consumers. So Whatsapp may soon be ready to make real money.
Whatsapp used to charge a $0.99 annual fees, but after being acquired by Facebook, Whatsapp abandoned the annual fee. Whatsapp had then said that it will let the users interact with businesses and organization with the aim of making money. So this step by Whatsapp wasn’t that unexpected.
The Reuters report said, that some Y Combinator startups have begun testing the feature,
“The trial is still in the early stages, said Umer Ilyas, co-founder of Cowlar Inc, one of the startups involved. The system is highly anticipated in remote places where WhatsApp is especially popular, he said.
Cowlar makes collars for dairy cows, collecting data on their activity and recommending changes to improve milk yield. The company, which is testing the collars in the United States, wants to use WhatsApp to send automatic alerts from the collars directly to farmers if say, a cow is not behaving normally, Ilyas said.”
Another report by Mashable also supports the Reuters report. It suggests that a variant of Whatsapp, called Whatsapp for Business is being tested in India.
This step is quite similar to what Facebook did with its Messenger. The change had led to a huge increase in business related bots in Facebook. Whatsapp is more popular communication tool than Messenger in many areas, so taking a similar approach with Whatsapp makes sense.
Now it has to be seen when this features for Whatsapp will be officially announced.

The launch of Nokia 3310 will take place in India somewhere near the end of May. It will work just fine in India at it works on currently supported network bands. However, the device will be useless in many places, like Canada and the US that do not support old bands like 900MHz and 1800MHz.
Now that the MWC is over we can finally focus on Samsung Galaxy S8. The smartphone giant decided to skip the Barcelone unveiling of Samsung Galaxy S8 and kept it for later. Now it won’t be too long before we get to see the most awaiting smartphone. A while ago Samsung announced the release date of Samsung Galaxy S8 to be 29th March. Another report said that it would go on sale on 21st April.
Now coming to the design.,Thanks to the numerous leaks that have been around we have a very clear idea as to how the Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to look. Its design will be pretty similar to that of the previous Galaxy Smartphones. It will feature a front and back glass a panels fused together by a metal band. This time though Samsung has worked towards reducing the screen to display ratio. And the fingerprint sensor has been shifted to the back of the smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will have rounded edges and will be comfortable to hold.
The display will be Super AMOLED and Quad HD+. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will have 5.8-inch screen whereas the Samsung Galaxy S8+ will have a 6.2-inch display. Both the smartphones will have Snapdragon 835 processor, with 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage that will be expandable. It will feature 12 MP dual pixel back camera and 8MP selfie camera. Samsung has decided to do away with the home button on the front. Samsung Galaxy S8 will also feature an iris scanner.
Presently the pricing of the Galaxy S8 is pretty unclear, and we will have to wait for a while to make any concrete statement regarding that. But from the specifications that have been leaked, it seems as if the smartphone will be an evolutionary step forward for Samsung.
The ProTruly Darling is world’s first smartphone to come with a 360-degree camera that lets you take photos and record videos of all directions in once and it will also let you upload these clips to YouTube and Facebook which now support 360 degree uploads. Apart from that, the phone will have a premium version that will have some embedded diamonds.
But before we discuss the gems bolted-on phone, let’s talk about the Darling’s design and specs. As the photos clearly suggest, the phone is not flat, and it has a quite large camera protrusion on both, front and back. While holding on hands should not be a problem, I think it certainly won’t be the most pocket-friendly phone on the market.
Aside from the crazy 360-degree camera, the phone will also have 13 MP shooters on front and back for traditional, old-school photos. ProTruly Darling has a 5.5-inch FHD Display, and it comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor and a USB-C port.
ProTruly will sell the phone in two versions: the first one will be budget oriented, and as per The China Daily, it will cost $600. The Second one, while expensive, is much more interesting. It will cost $1300 and to justify the cost; it will have leather, a strip of gold and four embedded diamonds on its body.
I have added a video from MWC, in which you can see the phone in action:

Although Google Allo is not a very popular chat application yet, Google hasn’t given up on this venture. The company just updated the app with some new features, hoping that it will be able to lure some more users into using the messaging app.
Among the many new introductions in the Allo app one is animated emoticons. To send an animated emoji, the user will have to press and hold the send button then drag up to “to see it come to life,” as said by Google. Currently, ten emojis support the animation feature in the app.
Another update to the Allo messaging service is a dedicated icon to call upon the Google Assistant. Earlier users had to type Google within
the text field to summon the assistant. Now there will be a dedicated icon which the user will simply tap to call upon the assistant. This feature will likely attract more customers to the Allo app, as it will be easier and faster to use now. “We’re adding a shortcut to make it quicker and simpler to bring the Google Assistant into chats with friends,” the search giant said in its blog post.
Another feature makes it easier to search for GIF inside the Allo app. To look for suitable GIF images, the user will click the smiley icon in the chat bar and swipe towards left side till they reach to the extreme right. Then they will find the option to Pull for GIFs. From there they can start searching for the GIFs by typing in the text field. This makes it easier to look for GIF while you are in conversation with someone right inside the Allo app. Google has also added ‘Lucky’ to the Allo app with sends random GIFs to your friends.
The update is available for Android and will roll out for iOS soon Google said. We will have to wait and see how many new users this update will be able to attract to Allo.
There is no doubt that Pixel is one of the best phone hardware Google has made and seeing the sales numbers, company’s efforts seem successful. Now Google’s Rick Osterloh has cleared that the search giant will be launching a new Pixel Phone this year and it will be aimed at premium segments.
Speaking to Android Pit’s Eric Hermann at MWC 2017, Osterloh said that a successor to Pixel phone would come this year just as Apple and Samsung do for their flagship devices, however, he did not reveal any release date estimations. “There is an annual rhythm in the industry. So, you can count on us to follow it. You can (also) count on a successor this year, even if you don’t hear a date from me now,” he said in the interview.
Most smartphone companies launch new flagship phones yearly, and the pattern has been very constant in recent years. Google launched first Pixel phones in October last year, and the new phone may launch in October too.
