Nokia Launches Nokia 3.1, A Stylish Budget Phone With Android One

Nokia looks to be completely focused on the low end and mid-range Android market this month, after launching the Nokia X6 recently, the company launched its update to the last year’s Nokia 3.

The new phone updates the design and it also has some performance improvements while keeping its price to a similar level.

The new phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and it has a 5.2-inch HD+ display with a taller aspect ratio. It is powered by MediaTek MT6750N which is paired with 2 or 3 GB of RAM. Storage options are 16 or 32 Gb although it can be expanded using MicroSD cards.

On the camera department, the phone comes with a single 13-megapixel camera on the rear and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The battery of the phone is just average for 2018 at 2990 mAh. Probably the more impressive feature of the phone is that it comes with Android One, which means it will get Android updates directly from Google.

It will be priced at INR 10,499 or roughly $152 in the US. Considering the phone comes with Android One and as such it will get regular updates from Google mothership, it may be a good choice for users looking for cheap phones with clean software.

Nokia Just Launched Nokia X6, It’s Coolest Looking Phone To Date

After launching Nokia 8 Sirocco and a refresh to its first Android phone Nokia 6, it looks like the legendary phone maker is back on with a new phone on the market. The company has named the new phone Nokia X6 and if you have been following recent phone trends, it looks like many other Android phones in the market.

Still, an almost bezel-less phone with a notch and a tall display is first for Nokia and its one of the best looking phones the company has launched in a while.

The X6 comes with 4 or 6GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 636 SoC and the front of the phone has a 5.8-inch full-HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Furthermore, the display is protected with a 2.5D curved glass.

In the optics department, the phone comes with dual camera setup on the back, one of which is 16 MP and the other one is a 5 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The front of the phone has a single 16-megapixel sensor.

In China the phone costs CNY 1,699 which is roughly Rs 17,600 in India. There is no official date of the phone launching in US or India as of now but considering its price, Nokia must be expecting the phone to do well in mid-range phone markets.

Motorola Just Launched Affordable Moto E5 To Take On Samsung And Xiaomi

While the now Lenovo owned company is trying to claim flagship market share, it looks like the company has still not forgotten one of its most sold series. The company recently launched an update to its Moto E lineup in the country.

With two models Moto E5 and E5 Plus, the new phones come with some much-needed updates to their older counterparts. The Moto E5 comes with a new 5.7 inch 18:9 display with 1440 x 720 resolution and the E5 Plus will come with a larger 6-inch screen with the same resolution. E5 has 2GB of RAM and it runs on entry-level Snapdragon 425 processor and has a quite sizable 4000 mAh battery.

E5 Plus will come with 3 GB RAM and Snapdragon 430 processor and 32 GB of built-in storage.

Camera wise, the E5 has a single 13 Mp f2.0 camera on its back and the E5 Plus will come with a 12 megapixel f2.0 camera the  E5 will have an impressive 5000 mAh battery but be ready for large recharge timing because none of the phones support fast charging.

Coming to prices, the Moto E5 will cost $145 (Rs 9999) and the larger ( and higher spec’d) E5 Plus will cost around $175 (Rs 11,999) Considering both Samsung and Xiaomi have good phones in this price range, Moto will have a decent competition to face.

Latest Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Leak Reveals A Lot of Interesting Stuff

Just recently. I covered a leaked render of the upcoming Galaxy Note 9 and today, we got some a picture of the phone alongside with the pricing details and launch dates.

Ice Universe on Twitter shared an image of the phone which shows the Note 9’s back, which looks a bit different than the last one. One thing still impressive is that the phone looks to be keeping its headphone jack. Alongside that, we can see a USB-C port and a slot to keep the S-Pen each Note device ships with.

Interestingly, the photo shows that the S Pen will come in a gold color which will be a first for the series.

According to the rumors, the Note 9 will be most expensive in the series with a price tag of PLN 4299 which is roughly Rs. 80,ooo in India. The pre-orders will begin on the 9th August which is also the day of phone’s official announcement.

Note 9 is the only flagship phone that comes with a tablet and the series has survived even after the  Note 7 débâcle, it will be interesting to see what changes Samsung makes to the phone when it launches in the market.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Has Leaked

Although Samsung is prepping to launch Galaxy Note 9, it looks like work for Galaxy S10 is also on full swing. For the 10 year anniversary of the popular flagship series, the company seems to be working on big design changes on the phone.

The phone will probably have a bezel-less display without a notch and it will have an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.

This was well expected by industry pundits, but surprisingly enough, the latest leaks suggest that the phone will come with a triple camera setup on the back.

This information came from ETNews which stated that apart from a flat 5.8-inch display variant, the phone will have a tri-camera setup on its back, sadly, the report did not state any specs of the sensors but if it is true, we can expect some more leaks about it in future.

While Galaxy Note 9 does not seems to be coming with a camera setup like this, reports of iPhone X Plus also indicate a triple lens camera.

Take these reports with a pinch of salts though, as no info about the Galaxy S10 is official. Still, it will be interesting to see if triple lens camera setup becomes the next industry trend next year.

We already have some information of Galaxy Note 8’s successor and now it looks like the South Korean giant is ready to launch its next phablet. Now that its less than a month of the phone’s official announcement, Android Headlines recently reported with some leaked renders of the Galaxy Note 9.

The Note 9 looks a lot like the Galaxy Note 8 launched last year which indicates that users expecting a huge redesign will be disappointed. And about specs, you can expect top of the line silicon powering the phone.

It will be running on Snapdragon 845 SoC or Samsung’s homegrown Exynos 9810 SoC and will come with 6 GB of RAM alongside with expected minimum 64 GB storage and a dual 12-megapixel camera setup on the back. Front of the phone will house an 8-megapixel sensor and the phone will have a huge 4000 mAh battery.

Considering the Note line survived with Galaxy Note 8 even after the explosive Note 7 disaster, it will be interesting to see now Note 9 does in the market once it launches next month.

After launching Nokia 8 Saracco, It looks like Nokia is ready to take on iPhone X and Galaxy S9 again with a new phone. This one is called Nokia X and the phone was recently leaked on Chinese retailer website.

Just like Nokia 8, the new phone will have a glass back and the front of the phone will house the dreadful-for-some notch. On the back can be seen a dual camera setup similar to of the iPhone X with a flash without the Zeiss branding that Nokia was known for in the past.

The phone has the model number of TA-1099 and a recent TENAA listing suggested that the phone will come with Android Oero pre-installed and the phone will have a 5.8-inch display with 1080 x 2280 display resolution.

Apart from that, the phone will come with an octa-core 1.8 GHz SoC and 3GB, 4 GB and 6 GB RAM options. Nokia X will come in two storage tiers -32GB and 64GB and it will also support microSD expansion up to 128GB. The cameras on the back are 16 megapixels each and the phone will also support wireless charging.

Nokia has been doing great for the first time in years, but the company has not quite been able to dethrone flagships like Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus or iPhone X. It will be interesting to see if Nokia can change it in future with the new phone.

Everything You Need To Know About the Upcoming Galaxy S8 Lite

Remember when we covered Samsung launching a cheaper version of Galaxy S8? well, it looks like the phone is real and will launch soon. The phone is reportedly set to for a launch in China this month and the phone and a model number of SM-G8750. At the moment, the company has not revealed the final name for the phone but we can assume it will be called Galaxy S8 Lite or Galaxy S9 Lite.

The phone was recently leaked on Chinese certification website and according to the listing, the phone will have an AMOLED display with 1080 x 2220 pixel resolution and it will have the SoC clocked at 2.2 GHz. The processor will be paired with 4GB of low-powered RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The listing also revealed that the phone will comes with Android Oreo pre-installed.

In the camera department, the phone will come with a 16-megapixel sensor on the back and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front.

Some images of the upcoming phone were also shared on Twitter by handly @MMDDJ showing a single camera on the back and a fingerprint sensor located next to it. Just like the recently launched red version of Galaxy S9, the phone will come with black and a red variant.

Remember when the South Korean smartphone giant launched a pink version of its Galaxy S8 that no one could buy in India or USA? Well, it looks like we now have a new great looking Galaxy phone that we won’t get.

Just recently, the company revealed a new variant of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus on its Chinese website. The new phone variant comes in a Red color with the same glass back and it admittedly looks rather cool.

The phone will cost the same as other variants of the phone but Samsung has not talked about any plans of the phone being launched on countries outside of China.

Interestingly enough, the phone ships with a matching red Yves Saint Laurent lipstick, probably to attract women looking for a Luxury phone.

I will keep an eye on it and let you know if the phone ever comes to US and India but judging from past experience, it probably won’t happen.

Samsung announced that the company’s sales figures have been poor in China and launching exclusive phone variants and marketing then via celebrities looks to be a way to increase sales, only time will tell if it works out in Samsung’s favor.

Samsung Just Launched Galaxy J7 Duo With Dual Cameras And Selfie Flash

In order to compete with Xiaomi and Motorola’s upcoming Moto G6, the South Korean Smartphone giant today launched a new phone called Galaxy J7 Duo while not as flashy as its top-tier family members, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, the new phone has some upgrades and a price tag that is much more attractive.

The phone has a 5.5 inch 780p AMOLED display and it runs on an Exynos 7 series octa-core SoC which is clocked at 1.6 GHz, the phone comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM.

Aside from that, the back of the phone contains a dual camera system much like the flagships one of which is a 13-megapixel sensor and the other one is a 5-megapixel sensor with f/1.9 aperture. The back camera supports autofocus, flash and FHD video recording. On the front of the phone, Samsung has added an 8-megapixel secondary camera with a f/1.9 aperture and an LED flash.

Apart from the above, the phone supports Face unlock, Selfie focus and beauty mode features. Connectivity wise, the phone supports LTE, 802.11 Wifi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and Glonass. The power pack of the phone is an average 3000 mAh and the phone weights 174 grams.

The phone will cost roughly 260 USD which is fairly competitive for the specs. However, Only time will tell if the phone manages to beath Xiaomi, Oppo, and Moto in the market.
