Samsung’s Galaxy A Leaked: May Come With Galaxy S8 Like Display For A Cheap Price

Galaxy A series from the Korean smartphone giant is nothing new, we got 3 phones in the series last year and Samsung is releasing an update this year too. But, this year’s release will defiantly be more interesting because leaks have suggested that the phones will come with S8 like display this year. Specifications of the Galaxy A5 (2018) are 5.5-inch full HD Infinity Display, powered by in-house Exynos 7885 SoC or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 paired with 4GB of RAM featuring a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port.

FCC certification is recently received by this device prior to an imminent launch. By schedule, the Galaxy A5 (2018) and Galaxy A7 (2018) should launch by the start of 2018. It will be interesting to see how the phone compares to other similarly priced phones in the market.

Leaks Suggest That Galaxy S9 Will Launch Soon, And it Will Steal iPhone X Features

The Galaxy S9 is claiming a prototype production with rumors that Samsung is to launch the new Galaxy S model against the iPhone X. Samsung’s Galaxy S8 successor is coming earlier than expected. Italian tipster @Ricciolo1 posted on Twitter of this Galaxy S9 arriving fast.

It will be a dual camera phone with faster speed that will include some iPhone X developments out of the box included.

Even if its just a rumor Samsung that has already delayed the Galaxy S9 launch. Also, an MWC 2018 announcement qualifies as an early launch. However compared to the Galaxy S7 and S6, its a regular timing hat has got reset.

@Ricciolo1 has not disclosed a real timeframe for the Galaxy S9. It is supposed to have a dual camera on the back, a fingerprint sensor under the camera module rather than beside it. A Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chip will empower it. Samsung also seems to make sure that its own Exynos equivalent, a brand new 10nm processor will power flagship devices in the coming year. iPhone X competition, however, will mainly mean that Galaxy S9 will have a Face ID-like facial recognition system, and it will follow some other tricks that resemble the iPhone X model of making on the same line.

iPhone X Screen Does Not Work in Properly in Cold Weather, Apple Working On a Fix

A major issue aroused over Apple’s iPhone X is of its freezing in colder weather. Customers report that it takes more than two seconds sometimes to get the screen working on the new iPhones after one has entered the cold zone. Apple has now said that a software update will resolve the issue.

It all started with a Reddit user darus214 who made following commentary regarding the freezing of the iPhone Xscreen. “I’ve noticed that my iPhone X screen becomes very unresponsive as soon as I step outside. It literally takes 2 seconds from going inside to the cold outdoors and my screen stops being very responsive. I try swiping on websites and it doesn’t register my finger. It’s very noticeable. Is anyone else having this problem?”

Other user in the same thread answered that locking and unlocking of the phone may resolve the problem. However it had the issue recognized and other realized the freezing pattern of iPhone X screen.

Then Apple has responded in a statement “We are aware of instances where the iPhone X screen will become temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid change to a cold environment. After several seconds the screen will become fully responsive again. This will be addressed in an upcoming software update.”

Apple’s official guidance for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is to use them at between 32º and 95º F, or the device might “change its behavior” or “temporarily shorten battery life.” However, its is not possible people to keep tracking the temperature for obvious reason that when one buys a phone he expect it to work fine in all temperatures that human body can go along with. This is not the only problem appeared with iPhone X though, some reports also came out about the phones having a ‘Green Line of Death’ on their displays, but the number of complains in very low compared to total units sold.

Android Has A New Feature To Highlight Apps That Eat Your Battery Life

Battery life has always been a major aspect of choosing the phones. Most users have experienced the annoying and distrustful feeling of dealing with low battery performance by their Android phones that claim much higher performance in its specifications. Arguably in most cases, it is not the phone, it is the Wakelocks, some apps keep draining the battery by preventing the phone from going into a deeper sleep. Wakelocks are caused by apps that constantly poll the phone for information.

Third-party apps had been there to crack down on wakelocks. But now Google is bringing an inbuilt solution. Latest Android 8.1 Developer Preview has the battery app sighting to find battery eating apps. It shows up a warning in the battery settings with a red battery icon. Also, the offending app, with its effect on draining the battery. Tapping it one can fix the issue. One may kill the app or restrict the permissions to it.

The new feature may add up to Android 8.1 or keep us wait a little longer, depends. It’s though a daring step that Google is testing a feature which gives us better control over phones. Battery particularly is one the major aspects that affect a user’s liking or disliking of his phone. With this new feature, many users will be able to use their phone to its potential.

Google has rolled out some builds of Android 8.1 in previous weeks, if you want to try these features though, you will a Pixel phone or Google Nexus devices.  Considering pushing battery sizes to the limit has hurt Samsung’s reputation recently, it will be great to be able to get better battery life with optimizations rather than just by packing huge battery’s just like the Nokia 2 does.

iPhone X Users Are Reporting ‘Green Line of Death’ Problem

A month ago, reports were floating on the internet about iPhone 8’s cracking open due to faulty battery problems, and now it looks like that was not the end of iPhone issues. iPhone X is now facing an issue of a random green line appearing on displays. Earlier reported by MacRumors, this problem started as a mocking point around the internet as‘Green Line of Death’. At least 25 such reports are already mentioned around the net.

A weird part is that this issue doesn’t flash immediately, but after some regular use of the phone it pops out suddenly. In some cases it changes color into a purple line too, appearing towards right or left sides of the display. And in some case, on both sides. Consumers have shared photos of this hardware issue, Apple Support Communities, Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit are catching on this regularly. though those 25 cases make only a nominal count around the users, the sudden popup of those issues gets everyone else in suspicion.

The green line wasn’t visible on any of the affected iPhone X units when they were first taken out of the box but rather developed spontaneously after some period of usage in normal conditions. The devices involved also don’t appear to have been dropped or damaged in any way.

“Day one and a bright green line has appeared down the right side of the iPhone X,” said Apple Support Communities user benvolio1979 has stated it so.

Restarting or resetting the phone to its factory settings does not help either. Reports are from owners of both 64GB and 256GB configurations in Silver or Space Gray in the United States, Canada, Poland, and Australia at a minimum. MacRumors has yet not demonstrated the issue once again. And Apple has declined to comment on an emailed response from its spokesperson. However, Apple has been replacing affected iPhone X units free of charge. They are also supposedly collecting data from the incidents so that its engineers can forward on this matter. Considering iPhone X is one of the most hyped phones of the year, Apple certainly does not want this.

Everything You Should Know About The OnePlus 5T

OnePlus has been launching some great phones for the last couple of years. After the launch of much awaited OnePlus 5 a few months ago, the company is planning to launch a refresh to the phone just like last year’s OnePlus 3T. Originally, the OnePlus 5T was to launch on November 16 but it was delayed and now the smartphone will be launched in New York City and will become available in India by November 21.

Feature-wise, it looks like the phone will have the same specs as the OP5 but the phone will have a larger, bezel-less display just like Galaxy S8 and newly launched iPhone X.

Company’s CEO Pete Lau has given hints that this handset will cost less than CNY 4,000, which will be approximately Rs. 39,000. And the same confirms that the upcoming handset will not fall in a very high range compared to the 8GB RAM variant of earlier OnePlus 5. there still be duties and taxes that will add up to make the price a little higher than we expect for now. So overall it will get a push to sell at a price beyond the Rs. 40,000 in India.

However, telecom carrier O2 has claimed, that OnePlus 5T price would be similar to its predecessors. It may just be that the company plans to phase out the 8GB RAM variant of OnePlus 5 and replace it with the 5T model. Still, there is time to reach to a conclusion on this matter. We will have to wait until November 16 and see what comes up.
